Provident warns on profits after rising impairments

The sub-prime lender's credit card division has also reported a slowdown in receivables growth

Provident Financial (PFG) lost a fifth of its market value after warning increased impairments at Vanquis Bank would push down adjusted pre-tax profits for 2018 to the lower end of market expectations.
