Video games group Frontier Developments (FDEV) has signed a “major” global IP licence to develop and publish an unnamed game with paid downloadable content on PCs and consoles. It expects the development cycle to last around two years beginning later in 2019.

As things stand, ‘Jurassic World Evolution’ – Frontier’s first self-published licence title, released last June – is its biggest launch to date. It achieved 1m base-game unit sales in only five weeks. Still, as we saw at the half-year stage, the group’s revenues were also buoyed by older games, including ‘Elite Dangerous’.
