Pork products specialist Cranswick producer wowed the market with yet another sizzling set of figures, including a plump 12 per cent increase in like-for-like sales.
Impressively, two-thirds of the increase came from volume improvement, with the remainder coming from price increases, and the company said that volume growth had actually accelerated during the six-month trading period. Cranswick benefited from growing demand for premium sausages, and is in the process of adding capacity to its factory to cope with the substantial increase in sales it expects over Christmas. The company's cooked meats business also required extra investment to cope with increased demand, as special promotions such as its 'Round Pound' deals driving volume growth.
