Here are our eight top picks for 2009. Tips of the year differ slightly from the share tips we publish every week - we don't do sell recommendations for tips of the year, and any smaller companies we choose are generally less speculative than some of the weekly recommendations.
We're also looking at changing the way we monitor and update all our tip of the week recommendations. Currently, tip performance is monitored using an online portfolio tool, which is not an ideal way to do it. Moving forward, we plan to monitor tip performance internally and publish the results of that monitoring. We also plan to do more updates based on price performance than on news events.
