Full-year results are not due from Sinclair IS Pharma (SPH) until September, but a bullish trading update revealed revenues for the year to June rose 14 per cent, with like-for-like sales up 4 per cent. The strong second-half performance, which offset an £0.8m currency hit, seems to have prompted non-executive director Stuart Swanson to add another 1m shares to his pile at 30.7p a piece. Another non-executive, Jean-Charles Tschudin, added half that amount for 30.8p a share.
The swift integration of three acquisitions – Perfectha, Ellansé and Silhouette – contributed to the robust second-half performance. The Perfectha range of hyaluronic acid fillers also helped Sinclair contribute to 90 per cent of dermal filler procedures in its key territories.
New launches of Perfectha and Ellansé gave a much-needed boost to the European business in the second half, with like-for-like sales up 0.8 per cent. This followed a 1.6 per cent decline in European sales in the first six months of the financial year.
