Recruiter Matchtech (MTEC) completed its acquisition of telecoms, IT and engineering recruiter Networkers International earlier this month. Management hopes the addition will help the group expand its international presence and help the business attract candidates with the diversified skill set required in the highly specialised professional services and engineering markets.

Keen to buy into this growth potential is Matchtech chief executive Brian Wilkinson, who purchased 35,000 shares in the recruiter for a £192,850 price tag. Mr Wilkinson now owns 0.15 per cent of the group's issued share capital.
Quite apart from the £0.7m in acquisition costs the group was saddled with, Matchtech has put in a fairly flat performance so far this year, with net fee income (NFI) up just 2 per cent during its first half. It has been let down by a poor performance from its professional services arm, resulting in one of its units closing its London office.
