Shares in Darty (DRTY) shot up 17 per cent after Fnac, the French retail giant, made an all-share offer for the electricals retailer. The proposed deal offers Darty shareholders one Fnac share for 39 of their existing shares, in turn valuing Darty shares at 101p - a 25 per cent premium to the 81p price they closed at prior to the announcement. That values the group at around £535m. Darty shareholders will still receive the final dividend of 2.625 cents offered in June 2015 under the current deal terms.
