For Bovis after Brexit vote, all eyes on sales outlets

The housebuilder has increased weekly sales rates, but the focus will be on the number of active sites

Bovis Homes (BVS) releases a trading update on Thursday, and in the light of the referendum outcome there is likely to be more interest in what it says about trading going forward rather than its historic performance. However, in May, the company reported an increase in private sales and no discernible effect leading up to the referendum.

Of more interest will be the number of sales outlets. These have remained broadly constant at around 102 in 2015, and despite 17 new openings the overall level has shown little change so far this year. But previous indications suggest that it needs 40 new sites a year to move towards the 150 active sites it requires to achieve up to 6,000 units a year.
