Only two weeks back, Topps Tiles' (TPT) chief executive, Matt Williams, said that he was confident the group could continue to "outperform the market". His bullish remarks were given added ballast recently after the retail boss bought a further million shares in the company, spending more than £1.2m in the process. Following the deal, Mr Williams owns a 0.9 per cent stake in Topps.

Having reported a good start to the financial year with a robust set of interim results, the scene is set for a solid financial performance for the remainder of this year. By focusing on customer service, widening the product range and building an online presence with different features such as a virtual tile visualiser, Topps appears to be attracting customers. Liberum still expects adjusted pre-tax profit of £20m for the full year, giving EPS of 7.9p.
