Actually, 'snatched away' is an exaggeration. As investors contemplated Carlyle's "highly preliminary expression of interest", the share price dipped back to 382p this week, at which level the prospective yield is still 4.5 per cent - enough to qualify for the income fund. So should I buy Chemring as an income stock whose total return might be turbo-charged by a quick takeover?
