- It’s retirement for one of our oldest screens…
- …and promotion for one of our newest
With an average age of a decade, many of the stock screens that appear on this website have been going for a long time. For their gatekeeper (yours truly), one unusual effect of this longevity is a sense of loyalty, burgeoning on affection, for many of the methods tracked.
This is a little ironic. By delegating the entire stockpicking process to sets of rules and metrics, screens are designed to remove all emotion. Still, misplaced attachment is probably a familiar feeling to many investors. When you spend so much time thinking and fretting about a particular asset, strategy, or company, a bond can develop – regardless of the payoff.
