Burberry's (BRBY) top designer, Daniel Lee, has now been in the job for 18 months, but his work has so far struggled to capture the imagination of either the fashion world or investors. 

At the same time, the company has the added challenge of raising prices at a time when luxury consumers are pulling back spending.
