Bridgepoint looks to interest rates for recovery

The manager flies the flag for private equity, but with higher-for-longer interest rates, the market isn’t sure about the immediate future

Private equity fund manager Bridgepoint Group (BPT) has spent most of the past three years not living up to the promise of its initial public offering in July 2021. The share price remains well under the 350p listing level, and well off its all time high of 561p, and we can describe it as emblematic of an unsustainable low interest rate boom. Furthermore, since interest rates started climbing, life for Bridgepoint and private equity in general, has become far more complicated.
