Ascential shareholders expect bumper returns

Ascential (ASCL) is poised to return £850mn to shareholders via a £450mn special dividend, a £300mn tender offer and a £100mn share buyback scheme. This follows the completion of two major disposals. Trend forecasting business WGSN and the group’s digital commerce division have both gone, leaving just the core events business behind.
