In common with past years, our recent bumper Christmas edition looked at the state of investing in 2018, and what might be in store in 2019. We also ran the rule over our tips of the week in a year when bullishness appeared to run out of steam.
It’s important to be honest about how those tips performed, and how we can learn from their timing and analysis. But to focus only on binary market calls would downplay much of what the Investors Chronicle does, which often involves a lot more nuance.
With this in mind, we are revisiting several of our recent cover features – from the FAANGs to property and bitcoin to banking – to test, review and update our thinking on the themes that caught our attention in 2018.
