Accsys Technologies (AXS) has secured an extension to an existing licence option with South American panel producer Masisa, which will allow Masisa to start evaluation trials using Accsys's wood treatment technology Tricoya.
Tricoya transforms ordinary MDF and other soft-wood products into an extremely durable and long-lasting product, lifting durability for ordinary MDF, for example, from 50 weeks outside to 50 years. Masisa will now assess whether there is sufficient demand to justify building a production plant, and Accsys is hoping that feedback will be a repeat of the positive customer feedback received from an earlier agreement with MDF producer Medite Europe.
The licence option extension has been made through Tricoya Technologies, the joint venture company formed with INEOS to develop Tricoya globally.
