Aktiesport and Perry Sport have 187 stores across the Netherlands, for which JD Sports will pay €26.5m (£21m). However, 55 of those sites will close immediately once the leases are terminated. JD Sports chairman Peter Cowgill says the acquisition helps the company expand further into Europe.

*Update, 1 April 2016: The original version of this article stated that Unlimited Sports Group was also the owner of the Helly Hansen brand. This was incorrect and has been removed.
