Sweden's Kindred, the owner of online betting firm Unibet, is hoping its gamble to buy rival group 32Red (TTR) for 196p a share, or £176m in total, pays off. Bosses at the target company said investors in control of more than 70 per cent of the shares had already pledged to support the transaction.

The agreed offer triggers a huge payday for 32Red's directors. Chief executive Ed Ware, the former Ladbrokes executive, owns more than a fifth of the company through his shareholding, while chairman David Fish could pocket £18m.
