Just a few week since JD Sports (JD.) announced a share split to improve liquidity in its share price, the group has secured another acquisition - this time of retail chain Go Outdoors for £112m. JD will buy the 58-store chain - whose products range from tents and bicycles to weatherproof clothing - from its private equity owners. It will complement the group's other outdoor brands, which include Blacks, Millets and Ultimate Outdoors. Go Outdoors is said to have no serious overlap with JD's existing store locations, given the brand's out-of-town, one-stop approach.
