African-focused gold miner Randgold Resources hopes it will still achieve its forecast 400,000oz attributable production for 2008, despite an unanticipated shortfall in one ageing Malian mine. Two million oz of reserves are confirmed at its Tongon deposit in Cote d’Ivoire, where mine construction commences at the year-end.
