Half year results from upmarket estate agency and property consultancy Savills (SVS) should make for interesting reading. A strong final quarter of 2012 in both London and East Asia buoyed profits in the group's key property broking division by 36 per cent and underpinned a 21 per cent increase in underlying pre-tax profits to £60.8m at the group level. Since then the London residential property market has been flying, both in the prime and mid-market, with some agents reporting double digit price rises this year. So with analysts pencilling in a modest rise in pre-tax profits to £64m this year, there could be potential for upgrades.
