Clinigen's (CLIN) chief financial officer, Robin Sibson, has netted himself close to £7m by offloading one million shares in the company. Post-transaction, Mr Sibson still owns nearly 1.5m shares, representing a 1.3 per cent stake in the group which, at the current price of 627p, is worth just over £9m.

The sale comes just as Clinigen's share price has started to weaken following publication of its full-year results in late September. The group's £225m acquisition of Idis carved a £17.8m hole out of last year's bottom line, but Clinigen will incur further acquisition-related costs as a result of its takeover of Link Healthcare. Clinigen will pay an upfront sum of £44.5m for Link and up to £100m more if certain clinical milestones are met on schedule. Crucially, the takeover gives Clinigen access to lucrative markets across Asia, Africa and Australasia.
