Breedon Aggregates ' (BREE) former group chief executive Simon Vivian has sold 6m shares in the company at 68p each. The sale coincides with his resignation as an executive director. Having led Breedon for six years from its creation as chief executive, Mr Vivian was appointed last September as chairman of the Mineral Products Association, the trade body for aggregates, asphalt, cement and concrete.

However, it's expected that he will be appointed to the board of Breedon in a non-executive role, and he still retains an interest of 10.5m shares in the company. At the same time, non-executive director David Williams has sold 5m shares at the same price, reducing his holding in the company to 16.7m shares. Breedon recently reported a near 50 per cent increase in pre-tax profits for 2015, and analysts at Peel Hunt expect a similar increase in the coming year.
