Keywords steps up its game

The video game services group is on track to surpass first-half growth expectations
August 3, 2016

The good news keeps on coming from Keywords Studios (KWS). Strong organic growth, combined with a boost from acquisitions, means the video game services group's bosses expect first-half revenue and adjusted pre-tax profit to "comfortably" exceed market expectations.

The key driver of the outperformance was Synthesis, the recently acquired localisation and audio business, as it secured several big projects. Further gains could stem from the group's recent £3m purchase of Volta Creation, a specialist in outsourced concept art. Broker finnCap expects adjusted pre-tax profit of €12.5m for the full year, giving EPS of 16.9¢, rising to €15.6m and 21.1¢ in 2017 (from €7.9m and 11.1¢ in 2015).
