BrainJuicer thinks outside the box

RESULT: Innovative ways of measuring consumer behaviour are paying off for BrainJuicer
March 23, 2012

The pioneering use of innovative research tools is paying off for market research group BrainJuicer, as the business continues to win a bigger market share in what remains a tough trading climate. The company is also spreading its wings geographically, opening another office in the US and starting an operation in Italy.

BrainJuicer's success not only reflects the success the company is having at coming up with different ways of testing the outcome of advertising campaigns with products like ComMotion, where revenue grew by 27 per cent last year, but also its ability to attract major companies as clients. In fact, BrainJuicer's list of 199 clients includes 12 of the 20 biggest global buyers of market research and business with this important segment grew by 46 per cent in 2011.

This focus is clearly helping the company generate strong growth overseas. For instance, the US business increased 2011 profits by over £1m to £2.6m on 42 per cent higher revenues, while results from mainland Europe were even more impressive with Swiss profits up 60 per cent to £1.1m and those in Germany more than trebling to £0.95m. By contrast, revenues rose a more sedate 11 per cent in the UK, BrainJuicer's biggest market.

Analysts at Edison Research forecast current year EPS of 16.8p, subject to review post-results.
