Healthcare services group UDG (UDG) will net itself €407.5m - close to £300m - by selling three Irish pharmaceutical distribution businesses - United Drug Supply Chain Services, United Drug Sangers and TCP - as well as its UK-based travel healthcare business, MASTA, to McKesson (owner of the Lloyds Pharmacy chain), which is looking to expand its European arm.

This disposal was a long time coming, but chief executive Liam Fitzgerald also announced he would leave the group next March. This will make way for Brendan McAtamney, currently UDG's chief operating officer.
