Fears surrounding antibiotic resistance have provided a favourable marketplace for Eco Animal Health (EAH). As demand for the group's efficient animal antibiotic, Aivlosin, has risen, so has its share price – so much so that the company is now worth 50 per cent more than it was this time last year.

That's excellent news for executive chairman and major shareholder Peter Lawrence who recently sold a little over one million shares cashing in more than £4m in the process. For investors this could also be good as, according to house broker Peel Hunt, this has helped increase the liquidity of the shares, although the seven-digit payday likely sweetened the deal. That's not to say Mr Lawrence isn't still committed to the group's future - he still retains a 16 per cent stake in the business.
