Defence contractor Cohort (CHRT) has secured a nine-year extension to a £12m RAF contract in yet another sign the group is navigating the pressures of its sector.

The contract at RAF Waddington involves one of Cohort's subsidiaries, MASS, working with three other companies to support and maintain the UK's fleet of airborne warning and control system aircraft, known as AWACS. This comes on the back of its July results when operating profits jumped by 18 per cent. What's also encouraging about the group, is only £1m of revenue comes from the EU, meaning it's well insulated from any potential Brexit-induced fallout.
