It’s been all change at the top at Numis (NUM) during recent months. Not only did chief financial officer Simon Denyer announce his intention to step-down from the board from January next year, but executive director Lorna Tilbian also revealed plans to exit the business after more than 16 years. Ahead of her departure at the end of September, Ms Tilbian sold almost £17m in shares in the corporate broker, equivalent to more than 5 per cent of the total share capital.
Managing director of the UK corporate finance arm Andrew Holloway will succeed Mr Denyer as chief financial officer. At the same time it announced the management changes, Numis outlined a recovery in the size of equity market issuance transactions among existing and new clients during the four months since the end of March. A softening in corporate action and secondary issue opportunities, coupled with a contraction in new admissions on the London market (post-referendum), dented pre-tax profit.
