A recent trading update from IMImobile (IMO) revealed that revenues for the year to March 2019 were ahead of market expectations, with cash profits “marginally ahead”. The former is expected to land at around £142m, up by 28 per cent – including 18 per cent organic growth. Adjusted cash profits should exceed £17.8m, up by over 30 per cent.

The communications software group had net debt of £7.9m at the period-end, compared with a net cash balance of £4.3m in FY2018, following the completion of its £16m cash acquisition of Impact Mobile. Given this performance, we’re not overly concerned about two recent director share sales. Chief technology officer Shyam Bhat offloaded 200,000 shares worth £620,000. He now holds 470,012 ordinary shares. Meanwhile, chief financial officer Mike Jefferies sold 100,000 shares worth £310,000. As per IMImobile’s website, he currently holds 13,424 ordinary shares in the group. Chief executive Jay Patel notes that IMImobile has not paid regular cash bonuses to its executive team in recent years. Mr Bhat also had tax charges to cover.
