Heritage grabs Libya foothold

Heritage Oil has positioned itself as one of the frontrunners in the post-Gaddafi Libyan oil industry

Heritage Oil is paying $19.5m (£12.7m) for a 51 per cent stake in Benghazi-based Sahara Oil Services Ltd., a company that boasts support services permits and licences in Libya, and rights to own and operate oil & gas leases.

The company also announced further success in post-Saddam Kurdistan, where testing of its Miran West-3 well produced a maximum flow-rate of 1,950 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and confirmed a contingent resource of 53m-75m barrels.
