Kate Bostock has resigned from online fashion retailer Asos (ASC) and stepped down from the board after just six months in the job.
Chief executive Nick Robertson said in a statement that Asos was "not the right platform for her talent" and he was "disappointed" things had not worked out. She is to leave with immediate effect, saying in a statement, "Asos isn't the right place for me".
Meanwhile, her role will be filled by the existing retailing team as the board consider whether or not a replacement is needed. Ms Bostock joined Asos in January as executive director for product and trading, tasked with boosting the company's own-label clothing range and bringing her expertise of large-scale retailing to the Aim-listed company.
She joined shortly after leaving Marks and Spencer as executive director of general merchandise. Her departure from M&S came after the retailer reported dire trading figures. A statement at the time said she had left "by mutual consent to pursue other interests".
