Another difficult year for Fox Marble

The marble quarry owner has failed to deliver on its expectations for 2016
December 14, 2016

An operational update from Fox Marble (FOX) feels worryingly familiar and points to yet another year where the forecast sales growth has failed to materialise. Yes, revenue is almost four times higher than it was last year, but at €700,000 (£551,960) it's still nowhere near what was expected.

But full marks to chief executive Chris Gilbert for optimism. He is confident that the group will finally be able to say something positive in 2017 as the long-awaited factory will "definitely" be completed in December and the two marble shades from the newest quarry are gaining popularity. The order book for 2017 stands at €2.9m, but there are more orders beyond that expected to be recorded in 2018.
