City AM reports this morning that in a survey carried out by recruitment firm Robert Walters it found that during October jobs on offer in financial services increased by 14 per cent. The hunt for compliance staff, mid-office workers and settlement people for over-the-counter transactions lead the surprising new demand. Yesterday social media network Linkedin estimated that jobs in finance grew by 22 per cent in the year to October.
Yesterday in cities all over Catalonia strikes, blockades and demonstrations against actions by the Madrid government and the detention of ex-separatist leaders dominated the day, blocking at least 60 roads and creating traffic jam chaos.
