The latest share purchase by Computacenter’s (CCC) non-executive chairman Gregory Lock may conjure up a sense of déjà vu. Indeed, this marked Mr Lock's second top up in the last six weeks or so, with each transaction following a significant announcement from the IT infrastructure provider.

But that’s not to say the content of these announcements was similar. In October, Mr Lock bought around half-a-million-pounds’ worth of shares soon after Computacenter’s acquisition of US-based IT solutions provider FusionStorm.
His more recent purchase – which totalled £665,629 – occurred just under a fortnight after a third-quarter trading update, which detailed a 3 per cent year-on-year sales decline. This wasn’t hugely surprising; the company previously said second-half numbers would face difficult 2017 comparatives. Mr Lock’s subsequent buy-in might, thus, inspire some reassurance among investors.
