Computacenter's chairman locks in

Gregory Hugh Lock bought half-a-million pounds’ worth of shares in two transactions

A few days after Computacenter (CCC) announced a marquee deal to acquire San Francisco-based FusionStorm, the erstwhile IT reseller’s non-executive chairman Gregory Lock bolstered his stake in the business – purchasing 43,000 shares in two tranches, worth £523,050 altogether.

Mr Lock’s outlay obviously sends out a positive message to shareholders, few of whom would have been surprised by the deal to acquire the US firm, given speculation had been mounting for over a year. Computacenter will pay an initial cash consideration of $70m (£53.8m) and a contingent liability of up to $20m dependent on the acquired business’ profitability over a 15-month period following completion. It will also contribute $45m to refinance FusionStorm's existing facilities.
