Sirius inks Chinese contracts

With another two off-take agreements signed, the prospects for stage two financing have improved
July 20, 2018

Sirius Minerals (SXX) has signed two new long-term off-take agreements for its POLY4 potash product, bringing peak contracted sales volume to 5.7m tonnes per year (Mtpa).

IC TIP: Buy at 33.8pp

The new deals, with Chinese customers Eiliseng and YSA, for 1.2Mtpa and 0.8Mtpa respectively, replace a 1Mtpa agreement with Dian Huang. Although no pricing data were referenced, the Woodsmith mine developer said the deals are linked to relevant product benchmarks and have been struck on terms “consistent with...existing agreements”, which we take to mean $145 (£111) per tonne.
