What used to be referred to as business conventions are now big business. In all their forms, they now generate $1 trillion globally every year, according to the Events Industry Council’s (EIC) Global Economic Significance of Business Events study.
Little wonder then that European private equity firm Charterhouse has come knocking for Tarsus (TRS). With offices in Dublin and London, the FTSE Small-Cap constituent specialises in B2B media activities including exhibitions and conferences.
Under the terms of the offer, shareholders in Tarsus will receive 425p a share, a 36 per cent premium to the company’s share price on the day prior to the offer, valuing the firm at £561m. They will also be entitled to receive the final dividend of 7.7p a share for the period ending 31 Dec 2018.
