Engineering project manager AMEC has secured a specialist design contract from French utility, GDF Suez. AMEC's oil services expertise is to be employed on the Cygnus gas field development in the UK North Sea. The detail design phase, which starts immediately, is scheduled for completion in 2014, and is valued at around £60m.
