Good companies create value for shareholders, some subjects of this week's round-up have made acquisitions but do the buy cases stack up?
- Cineworld (CINE) bought regal last year, which exposes it heavily to the continuing health of the US cinema market.
- Judges Scientific (JDG), the scientific instrument manufacturer, has grown both organically and by buying other companies.
- Restaurant Group (RTN) bought the Wagamama chain recently but it paid a hefty price tag
- JD Sports (JD.) is an extremely accomplished retailer but I have concerns whether its decision to buy Finish Line in the US will work out.
