Phil Oakley's shares round up 3 October 2019

Markets may be wobbling but the Fantasy Sipp is holding its own
October 3, 2019

Much this last Autumn, stock markets started October with a major wobble. Shares across the board tanked this week as a combination of factors including global growth fears, trade war concerns and Brexit finally combined to send sentiment tumbling. This has made valuation metrics on the blue chip FTSE100 looking tempting, but could there be worse to come?

Even in uncertain times, quality stocks remain in vogue, and this is reflected by the continued solid performance of the Fanstasy Sipp which continues to perform admirably when compared with some of the best managed funds around.

The week saw a dramatic plunge in the shares of Ted Baker, and the situation there could get even worse before it gets better. Meanwhile there is to be a notable boardroom change at Tesco, where chief executive Dave Lewis is giving up the reins after an effective turnaround of the grocery giant. Elsewhere in my report I take a closer look at the performance of James Halstead and Greggs and ask whether Revolution Bars is skating on thin ice.
