Despite signs of subdued levels of economic activity in the UK, I don't think the outlook for shares is bad. Over in the US, things are actually looking quite good. There is unlikely to be any increase in interest rates any time soon, while business is remarkably buoyant.
However, I am not expecting a great year from US shares next year for the sole reason they have performed so well this year. In many cases share prices have risen at a faster rate than profits and that cannot continue forever.
